Rutam IntArch is the furniture studio of Sheffalie Jhaveri, an Interior Architect based in Mumbai. Every piece begins the same way — as an experiment in material, form and a single question worth answering.

As an Interior Architect, Sheffalie Jhaveri creates timeless pieces that bring value to the design process — furniture meant to be lived with, not just looked at. Her work moves between the architectural and the playful: bold, engineered forms built as collectibles for curated spaces, alongside softer, more universal pieces designed to “fit in anywhere, anytime.”

Wrought iron is a recurring material across the studio's collections — chosen for a timeless beauty that goes back to the Renaissance and Victorian eras, when it had to be meticulously engineered and forged by hand. Rutam brings that same material into a modern aesthetic: bold contrasts of strength and delicacy, engineered to hold its ground while still feeling, as she puts it, “delicately poised.”

Over and above every design choice, the studio believes a piece of furniture should retain its high functionality, strength and sturdiness. It should never tip over. It should always hold its ground — whether it's a quiet, universal side table or a bold, unmissable statement piece.

Sheffalie Jhaveri's work has been entered for the Elle Decor International Design Awards (EDIDA) India 2025, under the “Can I Call You Rose?” collection — a series exploring bold contrasts of strength and delicacy in a romantic theme.
